Don Z. Miller, the producer of the Paradise Valley Jazz Party has authored two books, one about his experiences in producing jazz events and one about his early life on the Arizona/Mexican border.

HAS ANYBODY SEEN THE TRUMPET PLAYER? is subtitled, “ A Less Than Serious Look Back on 25 Years of Waiting for Jazz Musicians”.

Although the chord structure of the stories in this book about jazz musicians is loose, there is a theme throughout the book of admiration and awe of the jazz musician who composes, arranges, and plays extemporaneously without a net (as they say in the circus) every time he or she performs. “The author finds humor in some of the darndest messes he got into while producing jazz all over the world . . . “

COWBOYS AND DUDES . . . AND HUNGARIAN CHEFS? is subtitled, “Some of the Characters Who Made Dude Ranching On The Arizona/Mexican Border In The 1940’s A Funny Experience Indeed”.

In this book the author recalls his early days on a posh dude ranch, the grand dame of Arizona dude ranches, the Rancho Grande Hotel in Nogales, Arizona, a place where “ . . . east met west . . . the eastern dudes met the western cowboys and the western dude ranch was invaded by the east European Hungarian chefs who added paprika to the marvelous stew of a story. . . “

Each of these books are available for a mere $ 8.95 each ($ 12. including shipping) or $ 19.00 for the two including shipping by contacting:
